Resolute — cover

00Book

Resolute.

Lead with purpose. Navigate disruption. Build indestructible organisations.

The book. The frameworks the briefings draw on and Waymaker operationalises. In print since December 2024 — one operator, more than a decade of work, written for the leader at the head of the table.

One framework. 40+ applications.

Resolute is built on a single premise: growth emerges from navigating three dynamic tensions — leading vs managing, values vs character, skills vs systems. The Resolute Leadership Curve is the map of how those tensions play out as an organisation moves through the six stages from idea to scale.

The Twelve Questions, the Five Foundational Principles, the stages, the pillars — they aren’t parallel frameworks. They are applications of the same underlying model, picked up depending on the question an operator is asking on a Tuesday.

    The Three Tensions

Leading vs managing. Values vs character. Skills vs systems. The spine the whole framework runs on. You don't resolve them; you learn to live inside the pull.

  • A.02

    The Six Stages

Idea, Identity, Calibrate, Maturity, Mastery, Initiate. The Curve itself — where the business actually sits, not where it wishes it was, and what each stage demands of the leader.

  • A.03

    The Twelve Questions

Five of management for the present, seven of leadership for the future. The structure every clarity loop runs against — and the way the framework asks.

  • A.04

    The Five Foundational Principles

What holds the Curve together as the stages turn over. Earned not bought. Lead people, manage things. Values reveal character. Skills scale systems. Questions over answers.

  • A.05

    Substance and Form

Character and values are the substance — what doesn't change. Skills and systems are the form — what must. Get either one wrong and the whole thing tips.

  • A.06

    The Seven Ps

Purpose, Perceptions, Positioning, Practices, Personality, Principles, Performance. The tools the framework sharpens, applied across every part of the organisation.

Real growth is earned, not bought.

I wrote Resolute because the frameworks I was running inside engagements — for founders, CEOs, operating partners — didn’t exist anywhere as a single, coherent operating philosophy. Most business books are one idea stretched across three hundred pages. This one is a working set of frameworks an operator can actually use on a Tuesday.

The frameworks aren’t theory. They are what gets used inside engagements, encoded into Waymaker, and referenced in the briefings. The book is the source.

Read the book. Then we have something to talk about.

The clearest signal that an engagement is going to work is whether the leader has read Resolute first. The frameworks land faster. The conversations start three layers deeper.
